The Robert Young Center and Center for Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) is dedicated to the prevention, education, and treatment of addictions, substance abuse, and other disorders related to the harmful use of alcohol and drugs. We treat the addict, the abuser, and their family and friends. CADS offers a variety of substance abuse services focused on support, care, and treatment designed to meet the needs of families and individuals of all age groups in the community. CADS Country Oaks facility is a 66 bed freestanding facility in the west end of Davenport, IA near the Buffalo, IA border. CADS Country Oaks facility provides detoxification, residential, halfway house, and day treatment services.
The Robert Young Center- CADS is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) or or an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) or 3rd shift (11pm-6am) to work with our Residential Detox patients in Davenport, IA.You will play a critical role with our client monitoring them for signs and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal as well as proving client education about substance abuse and withdrawal. This also includes completing screenings on clients, admission paperwork, documentation in charts, making client referrals when the facility cannot meet clients’ needs and calling insurance companies for pre-authorizations. The LMHP provides acute care to individuals who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis and uses expertise to serve patients with complex behavioral health presentations that cannot be served in a behavioral health outpatient care setting. They perform crisis assessment, formulate a diagnosis, and implement acute care counseling interventions with patients. They act as a patient advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations. The LMHP assesses patients for risk of suicide attempts, plans treatment modalities, and coordinates treatment plans. In the crisis role, the LMHP consults with a medical provider to recommend the least restrictive plan of care. They also gather information about community mental health needs or resources and make referrals that could be used in conjunction with outpatient therapy. The LMHP often interacts with child protective services and works closely with county social workers and parents, collaborating on the plan of care. Patients are seen by the LMHP in person, via telehealth within multiple local Emergency Departments (ED), and may be assessed on inpatient units.

The CSU Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) is supervised by the Manager, Outpatient Nursing Services Psychiatry and CSU and provides care to patients in crisis utilizing the Robert Young Center principles of Trauma Informed Care. The PRS provides acute care to individuals who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis and uses their own unique, life-altering experience in order to guide and support others who are in some form of recovery. The PSR promotes hope through positive self-disclosure, they role model self-care and the effective use of recovery skills, and they help patients overcome discrimination, stigma and/or trauma. They assist patients in obtaining resources, overcoming barriers, and building protective factors.

Full Time Benefits
Assist provider and other clinical staff with obtaining basic vital information preparing patient for examination, treatment and minor surgical procedures. Responsible for tracking system for follow-up appointments related to office visits, laboratory tests and procedures to regularly follow patients monitoring disease status. Schedule referrals for patients with specialist or outpatient as requested by the provider. Complete appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing, including appropriate CPT/ICD-10 coding. Answer questions and provide teaching to patients and family members.

The Child Protection Center (CPC) is an outpatient department of the hospital that provides an interagency coordinated response to child and dependent adult abuse investigations and assessments. It is the role of the CPC to provide medical examinations, forensic interviews, and advocacy services. In addition to these core services, the Center also conducts foster care removal exams and is home to the CARE (childhood assessment, referral, and early intervention) program. It is the responsibility of the CPC RN to support medical providers and contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families.
