For your convenience, UnityPoint Home Care can handle all your Medicare and insurance billing. Our on-site billing means questions can be handled locally by a team that works directly with our delivery technicians.
Home Medical Equipment Retail Centers: We offer several retail locations where customers and their families can conveniently purchase or rent equipment. Each center is staffed with specially-trained professionals ready to talk with patients about their specific equipment needs.

We are looking for a full-time Director to work in our Surgical Services department. This is a salaried position. Work hours will be days, Monday - Friday, for 80 hours per pay period. You will be required to flex to other shifts to accomodate the needs of the departments.
The Director Surgical Services is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the strategic plan for surgical services and nursing practice within the acute care hospital, consistent with the organization’s strategic and business plans. Operational oversight includes Surgery, Pre/Post Surgery (Babka), Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Sterile Processing. The Director works with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and patient care leadership team to create destination nursing departments for patients, families, staff, and providers. The Director provides leadership and positive promotion of the services continuum from pre-procedure to immediate post-procedure programming with linkage to acute and critical care services and post-discharge resources. The Director is responsible for the development, communication, and successful execution of established objectives (financial and clinical) within surgical services.

The job of the medical social worker is to perform assessments with patients to assess for any physical, mental or emotional needs. They assess the family support system and link the patient with services to help with care if needed. The social worker can also provide assistance with financial concerns such as not being able to afford medications or pay household bills. Some social workers provide counseling to patients who are suffering from depression or who are having difficulty coping. The Patient Access Associate is responsible for obtaining accurate and thorough demographic and financial information for each patient visit. Ensures that appropriate signatures, financial information and precertification requirements are secured. Screens for benefit eligibility on appropriate accounts.
Informs/educates patients that have not been pre-registered of their financial responsibility reviewing deductibles, coinsurance, allowable and copayments. An estimate is developed and reviewed with each patient. Collection process is initiated and posted to the patient’s account.
When these functions are completed with accuracy this process will ensure patient safety through appropriate identification, maximum reimbursement for hospital charges and compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Interacts in a customer focused and compassionate manner to ensure patients and their representative’s needs are met, and that they understand the medical center’s policies for the resolution of patient financial liabilities and the various available payment options.

Join our growing patient care team! In this role you will be cross trained to room patients and obtain vitals as part of the patient care team as well as perform X-Ray when needed.
The Clinical Care Attendant is responsible for assisting the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, and Physician Assistant (collectively “Provider”) with front office and back office duties in the outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis. This position is a vital part of the office team that cares for patients in the clinic setting working under the direction of a Provider and working closely with the Provider, other clinical staff, and direct patient care. Additionally, the Clinical Care Attendant is responsible for a variety of clerical and clinical functions, including performing diagnostic imaging, within a clinic setting requiring knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a strong customer service attitude. The RN is responsible for the delivery of safe and reliable patient care, in coordination with the healthcare team. The primary role of the RN is the execution of the nursing process in providing required care and evaluation of the care given. Responsibilities include: assessment, nursing diagnosis related to focus problem areas, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Performance of these responsibilities requires specialized knowledge, critical thinking and skills based on principles of psychological, social, physical and biological sciences that utilize the nursing process.

The Registered Nurse functions as a member of the surgical team to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. The Registered Nurse collaborates with the team to ensure that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. The Registered Nurse is accountable for assessing patient needs preoperatively; planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care of the patient intraoperatively, and providing a report of intraoperative care to the nurse who will be caring for the patient postoperatively. In addition, the Registered Nurse may function as a member of the sterile surgical team, assist in the pre-and post-operative care of the patient as needed, or assemble instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
