Under the direction of the Respiratory Therapy Manager, the general supervision of the Lead Therapist, and with the guidance of the Medical Director, the individual will be required to perform Respiratory Therapy Service modalities as ordered by physician to in-patients and out-patients throughout the Trinity Medical Center facilities.

Patient Experience/Patient Care
Equipment
Education: Must be a Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory care Program and a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or considered Registry Eligible by the NBRC. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Preferred.
Experience: Employees are required to go through a 3 to 6 week orientation, depending on level of experience for proper orientation to the departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
License(s)/Certification(s): Iowa Licensure - Obtained within 1 month from date of hire. Illinois License - Proof of completed and submitted application within the first week of employment. All employees must have their CRT credentialing and keep it Active per the NBRC standards. CPR Certification Required. ACLS/NRP/PEARS within 6 months from date of hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be familiar with and demonstrate competency on Humidifiers, O2 therapy related equipment, aerosols, and pulse oximetry. Nebulizers, inhalers, and applicable medications. Mechanical percussor, bedside pulmonary screeners, EKG's, and volume expansion therapy. Emergency airway equipment. Arterial blood gases and trach changes. Equipment and therapies associated with the care of the neonatal population. Ability to accept assignments at the Rock Island, Moline and Bettendorf Campuses. Individuals should be able to accept and perform new responsibilities assigned to the Respiratory Therapy Department, have knowledge of cardiopulmonary physiology and other sciences relating to Respiratory Care, and be able to perform Respiratory Care with a high sense of responsibility and accuracy. Must exhibit mature judgment, honesty, and integrity. Tact, good judgment, verbal ability, and a positive attitude are very important attributes when dealing with patients, patient's families, physicians, nurses, and other hospital employees.
Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
