Day Shift - Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 6:00PM
Physical Therapy Assistant works under the general supervision of the Manager of Rehabilitation and the direct supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, assists with patient treatment in the treatment area, patient's room, and on home visits.
COVID-19 and Flu Vaccination Requirement: It is required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza. Exemption requests based on medical or religious reasons may be submitted, but must be approved for active employment.

TECHNICAL/ADMINISTRATIVE/CLINICAL: (Total Weight of 100) Demonstrates competence in the skills, (processes, procedures, and equipment) necessary to carry out assigned duties as identified below. Demonstrated competence in recognizing and responding to patients physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs should be evaluated in relation to the patient populations served as appropriate for each responsibility. Demonstrates competence in the administration of age appropriate patient care , including assisting the Licensed Physical Therapist, adjusting treatment plans with Physical Therapist as indicated under visual/written instruction of Physical Therapist and family/patient education. Care may by provided in a variety of settings including but not limited to the following: Transitional unit, General acute, Rehabilitation, Home care, Outpatient, and Outside agencies. Writes/maintains necessary documentation of patient progress through progress notes and discharge summaries according to Medicare guidelinnes keeping P.T. informed of patient progress at all times. Adheres to all documentation policies of rehab. services. Performs various duties necessary to maintain department in orderly manner. Attends and participates in staff meetings and scheduled in-house inservices. Attends and participates in continuing education courses as available and presents information to staff via inservices. Participates with marketing, health fairs, or recruitment functions as available, and plays active role in department Quality Improvement activities.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Must be a graduate of an approved two year Physical Therapy Assistant program, with an Associates in Applied Science, majoring as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Previous experience desirable. Must have IL and/or IA state licensure.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: Must be self-motivated and able to perform duties without constant supervision. Must be able to physically provide treatment in a safe manner using proper body mechanics.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Must have IL and/or IA state licensure.
