Overview

GUARANTEED 40 HOURS OF PAY – WORKED OR UNWORKED! PLUS OVERTIME OVER 40 HOURS! Hours of availability 1800 - 0630 on a rotating schedule of Sunday through Thursday and Monday through Friday.

Our Operating Room is a busy 9 suite department that performs a variety of surgical cases in the following specialty areas: Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Robotics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Podiatry, and Plastics. We offer opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth related to the perioperative arena and are very proud of our structured and robust orientation program centered around the Periop 101 program through AORN – The Association for OR Perioperative Registered Nurses. Responsibilities

To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care at Registered Nurse skill level, in collaboration with the Medical Plan of Care, with a minimum of assistance. To function as primary care leader, associate, or charge nurse so that optimum quality of patient care is maintained according to the philosophy and objectives of Allen Hospital. To exercise accountability responsibility, authority, autonomy, and act as a role model and resource person with expanded theory and expertise.

Qualifications

Current license in the state of Iowa or meets criteria established by Iowa Board of Nursing. Minimum of Associates Degree in Nursing required or comparable experience. Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred. Ability to plan, assess, implement, and evaluate the nursing care delivered to a group of patients. Ability to assume responsibility for personal and professional growth. Able to meet the physical demands on file in the Human Resources Department.
