Overview

**$10,000 New Hire Sign-on Bonus**

 

 

 

Shift Differential: $5.00/hour between 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; $7.50/hour between 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM **(at minimum of 4 hours worked)**

 

Weekend Differential: An additional $7.50/hour between Fridays at 11:00 PM - Mondays at 7:00 AM

 

 

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families.  Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health with in the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.

Responsibilities

Nursing is the protection, promotion and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities and populations.

 

Consistently conforms to high standards of practice:

  1. Assessment – collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation.
  2. Diagnosis – analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnoses of issues
  3. Outcomes Identification – identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
  4. Planning – develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
  5. Implementation – implements the identified plan
  6. Evaluation – evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
  7. Ethics – integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
  8. Research – integrates research findings into practice.

Qualifications

Education:  Diploma from an RN program.

 

Experience: Prefer one (1) year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency.

 

License(s)/Certification(s): 

Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.  Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state. 

Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

Within 6 months of hire, must acquire and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. 

Must maintain annual unit specific educational requirements as specified by Nurse Manager.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office – basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.

 

Lifting Requirements: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
