Responsibilities

  • Histology Technician HT (ASCP) or Histotechnologist HTL (ASCP) receives and prepares tissue specimens for routine and special procedures and pathologist review. Histological duties include accessioning, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.  Must be able to maintain accurate tissue and slide records. Cleans and maintains instruments and work areas. Additionally, must be able to comply with established laboratory policies for universal precautions and safety

Qualifications

Requires an associate degree or bachelors in biology, related science, or equivalent preferred anatomical physiology.  Required ASCP Histotechnician certification HT(ASCP) or Histotechnologist HTL(ASCP)
