Responsibilities

  1. Provides clerical functions for medical office, as evidenced by:
  2. Answers phones and greets consumers, as evidenced by:
  3. Maintains information on projects/studies performed by Psychiatrists/Physicians
  4. Performs miscellaneous work assignments as needed, as evidenced by:
  5. Conducts internal audits for staff promotions.
  6. Monitors hepatitis and annual TB shots for staff/consumers.
  7. Fills in for receptionists.
  8. Participates in performance improvement (PI) activities
  9. Participates in training and educational activities in order to achieve, maintain, and/or upgrade skills
  10. Performs actions that demonstrate accountability
  11. Utilizes appropriate channels of communication when resolving conflict
  12. Recognizes and conveys essential information to appropriate parties
  13. Demonstrates courteous, respectful, and caring behavior toward consumers, visitors, co-workers and outside contacts

Qualifications

Education:

High school/GED and 1-2 years experience preferred.  Graduate from Medical Assistant Certification Program preferred.

 

Certification/Licensure:

CPR Certification Required within 6 months of hire

Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA or NHA preferred.

 

Experience:

Requires basic computer skills and familiarity with a Windows-based environment.

Requires 1-3 years of previous medical assisting experience. 

Previous medical assistant experience in a Behavioral Health Clinic preferred.
