Recovery Specialist/Clinician

Knolls (Male Residential Facility) - UnityPlace

1st or 2nd Shift, Full-Time, Benefitted

 

 

Position exists to provide clinical care to consumers in a male residential substance abuse treatment setting.

 

Responsibilities

Service Provided:

  • The individual in this position provides clinical services to an adult male population with primary substance use difficulties in a residential setting.  
  • Will provide include providing individual, group, and family counseling, and case management.  
  • In addition, the staff will review and coordinate requests to attend medical, legal, recovery related, and personal appointments.
  • The individual must have the ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team and a diverse population. 

Communication/Documentation:

  • Will provide clinical progress updates to referral sources/court services/private insurance/Medicaid providers. 
  • Clinical documentation will reflect the consumers’ story, efforts, and progress made.
  • Good organizational skills are essential to document services provided, author individualized and client-centered treatment plans, and perform regular treatment plan reviews.  
  • Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills are required
  • Strong Computer Skills Required

Clinical Supervision:

  • Participation in Individual and Team supervision will be a critical component of providing good clinical care.
  • Consumers are best served in a setting where staff have ongoing opportunities to review clinical work and improve skills.

Qualifications

Required:

  • This position requires certification (CADC) or licensure (LPC, LCPC, LSW, LCSW) or the ability to obtain within two years.
  • IL criminal fingerprint background check.
  • Willing and able to work with a diverse population.

Preferred:

  • Current Illinois driver's license with an insurable driving record and vehicle.
  • Experience working with adults with serious mental illness and/or substance use.
  • Understanding of the community recovery networks and other community resources
  • Understanding of the biopsychosocial nature of substance dependency
  • Familiar with Motivational Interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
  • Computer experience in a Window's based environment
