Top of the World Ranch has partnered with the Robert Young Center to establish a new residential addiction treatment program in Milan IL. The facility has over 315 acres of land and miles of trails in a beautiful wooded setting. We are now accepting applications for employment for a Qualified Behavioral Health Professional. In this role, you will play a key role to address behavioral addictions such as gambling, sex & romance addiction and other dependences that often accompany the chemical addictions.  You will be responsible for providing clinical services for clients experiencing both substance abuse and co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. This involves carrying a caseload of 5-6 clients and providing individual and group counselling, skill development and psychoeducational interventions, as well as case management services.

Candidates will need to have a Master’s Degree in a mental health field and licensed in their field. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable on addiction and mental health disorders and familiar with the 12-Step program.   • Perform drug and alcohol assessments for residential services, so long as no conflict of interest exists, and provide referral sources with service recommendations.


  • Assist in the development of a comprehensive residential program for clients that enroll with Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining procedures to ensure proper residential treatment.
  • Follow established clinical and administrative procedures and document proper oversight of residential treatment services.
  • Remain current on legislation and regulations that affect residential treatment services and respond accordingly
  • Provide substance abuse treatment and any other identified services to clients and their families on a residential basis.
  • Monitor and documents progress of clients.


  • Prepare and submit reports as deemed necessary in a timely manner.
  • Participate in any quality assurance program and work to continuously improve the program within fiscal and departmental parameters.

 Basic UPH Performance Criteria

  • Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. 
  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.


Preferred or Specialized



Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or relation discipline in human services.

Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing, Transtheoretical Theory of Change and other empirically-supported treatment approaches is strongly preferred.



Supervised clinical experience with clients who experience both substance abuse and mental health disorders.



Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

LCSW or LCPC Licensed

LCSW, LCPC, achieved, CADC certification



  • Knowledge of addiction and mental health disorders, with an appreciation for the role of complex trauma in the development and treatment of both.
  • Knowledge of evidence-supported drug/alcohol and co-occurring services and programs.
  • Familiarity with 12-Step programs.
  • Commitment to upholding professional ethics and to practicing with integrity.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients and other staff members.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organizations.
  • Working knowledge of the DSM-5.
  • Working knowledge of assessment and screening tools; ability to write clear and concise reports.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations of clients in individual, group and family settings in a diverse work setting.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • A positive, proactive approach to dealing with complex clinical cases.
  • Ability to work effectively with referral sources in the community.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and productive working relationship with various referral agencies, as well as with other organizational personnel.
