Under the immediate supervision of the Manager of Inpatient Pharmacy Operations and Registered Pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician II will assist registered pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical services to patients within the medical center including but not limited to: delivery of medications, preparation of sterile products, stocking of automated dispensing cabinets, responding to nursing messages, performing inventory management activities, performing unit inspections, and answering phones. Pharmacy technicians are expected to demonstrate efficient time management, organization of work, and prioritization.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: Possess proficiency in computer and basic math skills. IV room/sterile compounding experience required. The ability to work well under periods of continued stress. Must interact well with people, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Pharmacy Technician License or eligible licensure in both Illinois and Iowa. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board - PTCB or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians - ExCPT certification designation is required.
