Provides basic scrub skills in the Surgery Dept. under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and assists with meeting the intraoperative needs of the patient.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Essential functions are the duties and responsibilities that are essential to the position. Able to receive assignments and acquire the necessary information to begin the assigned duties presented to them by the Registered Nurse/Preceptor. Demonstrate competence in the skills necessary to recognize and respond to the patient’s physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs as deemed necessary in relation to the patient populations served.

Education: Satisfactory Completion of the Surgical Technology Fundamentals class from an approved Surgical Technology Program as verified by a letter from the Program Director.
Experience: Will receive on the job training in specific duties and procedures.
License(s)/Certification(s): CPR certification is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Enrolled in a Surgical Technologist program.
Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
