The Clinical Engineering Manager position is a front line level operations role managing an affiliate site(s) including assigned clinical engineering staff.

The CEM is responsible for support and oversight of all clinical engineering operations of the assigned affiliate site(s). This includes all budgetary and the highest level of service delivery performance of the affiliate site(s) in addition to management of all assigned UPH CE support staff.
The CEM has primary assigned affiliate site responsibility in the implementation and sustainment of current and future UPH CE service program operational strategies with measurable monthly, quarterly and annual reporting metrics meeting or exceeding expectations as a deliverable.
Provides direction, development and mentoring of all reporting assigned affiliate site CE staff. The CEM has primary front line level responsibility in the recruitment, retention, and termination of the assigned support staff.
The CEM provides positive leadership and staff engagement mentoring to and through all assigned support staff. Staff engagement is measured periodically and results indicating an engaged team are the responsibility of the front line affiliate site manager.
Develops and presents report-out updates and presentations of operational and budgetary performance at the affiliate level quarterly, or as requested.
Directs and maintains positive customer relations in turn sustaining the highest level of customer satisfaction at the assigned affiliate site(s). The CEM identifies any areas of opportunity and develops and executes corrective action when needed.
The CEM has primary responsibility at the front line management level in the implementation and successful delivery of all identified KPI’s of the UPH Clinical Engineering program in addition to any organizational metrics that may be required and reportable.
The CEM develops and maintains vendor support relationships serving the assigned affiliate site(s) and provides updates and information to senior Clinical Engineering leadership for reference at all periodic business reviews chaired by the Executive Director of Clinical Asset Management.
Responsible and knowledgeable of all state/federal regulatory and accrediting agency guidelines for healthcare
Adhere to all UnityPoint Health Personnel policies and procedures and Safety guidelines.
Behave in a manner consistent with all Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.
Minimum of five years (5) supervisory level or above experience in a clinical engineering department or field service operation preferred.
Requires experience in health care regulatory compliance, quality assurance or health care administration.
Requires knowledge of federal healthcare laws and regulations.
Requires highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health, its subsidiaries and affiliates.
Excellent academic credentials with a track record of professional accomplishments, which demonstrate superior performance, leadership and vision.
Possesses excellent written and verbal communications.
Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships.
Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.
Associates degree in either a Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Technology accredited program or extensive proven supervisory level or above experience of at least five years (5) in a multi-disciplinary clinical engineering program or field service operation is preferred.
