  • Overview

    The Supply Chain ERP Trainer is responsible for developing and maintaining course curricula and training materials for the supply chain ERP system and supply chain processes.  This position is also responsible for collaborating with Supply Chain to develop and deliver training to all Lawson Requesters and Approvers, including those added due to new affiliate integrations, and provide general workflow knowledge and content expertise for UnityPoint Health.  



    • Create, develop, modify and maintain innovative and engaging course curricula and training materials for the supply chain ERP system and supply chain processes.
    • Responsible for the design, build, and test of training environments for the application.
    • Meets with Supply Chain customers and business partners to gather requirements, data and needs in order to successfully design and deliver effective training materials based on the information gathered.
    • Provides end user training as needed through multiple training methods to increase effectiveness of training, including face-to-face, instructor led, webex, computer-based, tip sheets, etc.
    • Responsible for developing, training, advising and evaluating train-the-trainer/super user programs utilizing various instructional design models, adult training methods and modes of delivery.
    • Sends appropriate communications regarding training and assists with the preparation and delivery of course schedules, including coordinating room scheduling and the delivery of course materials and resources to meet customer’s training needs.
    • Participates in Lawson upgrade and patch testing to ensure training documentation is current at all times.
    • Maintains a working knowledge of all Lawson Supply Chain applications, including S3 and Landmark, as well as key supply chain processes.
    • Assists with other hands-on training as needed for Approvers related to invoice approval in OnBase.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    • Collaborates with Supply Chain leadership to send monthly communications to Requesters and Supply Chain staff via on-line newsletters.
    • Sends system-wide communications for Supply Chain leadership via Polite Mail to UnityPoint Health team members regarding process changes and other items that impact the entire UPH population.

    Process Improvement/Process Changes

    • Adheres to Standard of Work and works closely with internal and external resources to optimize processes.
    • Fosters and build relationships with supply chain staff across UnityPoint Health to identify and develop supply chain and service solutions.
    • Demonstrates initiative to continually improve quality and value to the customer. Participates actively in process improvement projects.



    • Associate Degree
    • 3 years of related experience may be substituted
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred


    • 3 years healthcare supply chain experience
    • Lawson or other ERP system experience preferred
    • Adult education/training experience preferred


    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
    • Strong written and verbal skills required.
    • Ability to deliver adult training utilizing multiple training methods to increase effectiveness of training.
    • Strong presentational and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities responsibly and professionally, required.
    • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
    • Effective typing skills.
    • Performs effectively under high stress of continual demands and deadlines.
    • Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks subject to frequent change.
    • Ability to understand and deal effectively with problems and opportunities that arise in a complex multiprocessing environment.
    • Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective and cooperative working relationships.
    • Strong commitment to providing professional and excellent customer service, while continuously looking for the best solutions for the users served.
    • Exercises sound judgment, seeking advice when appropriate.
    • Shows aptitude for analyzing complex information and transforming that information into accessible, comprehensible training format.
    • Works independently, takes initiative.
    • Proficiency in Captivate or Camtasia preferred.
    • Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
