  • Overview

    The Greeter will initiate positive customer service relations in keeping with Trinity’s Guest Relationship Principles. Works closely with Patient Registrars and Nursing Service in communicating patient’s arrival and entering them into the computerized electronic medical record.

    Responsibilities

    Demonstrates competence in the skills, (processes, procedures, and equipment) necessary to carry out assigned duties as identified below.

     

    Knowledge of Work (Understanding of Job, Proficiency, and Competence)

     

    • Ensures that patients and visitors are directed/escorted to their destination(s) in a timely manner. Provides clear, concise, accurate directions.  Demonstrates familiarity with all physical aspects of Trinity facilities and is able to correctly direct or assist to desired locations.
    • Answers questions that patients or family members may have about the registration process and provides information as needed.
    • Demonstrates positive communication skills and consistently follows Trinity Values.
    • Adheres to all confidentiality policies and procedures.
    • Is knowledgeable of and strictly adheres to EMTALA regulations.
    • Understands and follows policies and procedures that affect registration services relating to HIPAA regulations.
    • Has good working knowledge of the computer system as it pertains to accessing information and services.

     

    Quality of Work (Thoroughness, Accuracy, Neatness)

     

    • Promptly and courteously greets/addresses each person requesting assistance-over the phone and in person.
    • Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
    • Willingness to accept instruction and responsibility for job performance.
    • Communicates with nursing staff to ensure all patients are arrived in the computer correctly and in a timely manner.

     

    Quantity of Work (Productivity)

     

    • Answers phone promptly and within three rings with the appropriate greeting.
    • Makes good use of time to achieve maximum productivity, completing all tasks as assigned quickly and accurately.
    • Provides suggestions to Manager on ways to change processes and improve overall productivity.
    • Ensures that all patients are processed quickly and accurately to facilitate a smooth patient flow for all departments.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: 

     

    High school graduate. Prior customer service experience preferred.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: 

     

    Must possess good verbal and written communication skills to include excellent listening and speaking skills. Must be able to function well in direct contact with patients. Pleasant speaking voice and listening abilities. Ability to use telephone, keyboard, copier and fax machine. Must possess organization abilities and be self-directed. 

     

    LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: 

     

    CPR certification.
