Responsible for ensuring the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care services to all patients and customers for CMH. This position provides leadership for department services by planning and directing the pharmacy activities and establishing departmental policies and procedures.
This position provides guidance and oversight to the medication use processes across the continuum of care to ensure these processes are organized, systematic, and monitored on an ongoing basis. As PIC is responsible for all operations of the pharmacy and for ensuring the pharmacy operations and practices comply with all requirements of federal and state pharmacy and drug laws, rules, and regulations. The PIC shall be responsible for the complete inventory of controlled substances on hand at the pharmacy.
Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacy, RPh, or PharmD in pharmacy required.
Holds current Iowa pharmacist licensure, either by examination or by reciprocity, is required.
Reasonable (1-3 years) hospital pharmacy experience is required. Previous managerial or supervisory experience (2-3 years minimum) in an acute care pharmacy or complex health care organization preferred.
Must demonstrate competence in the area of medication use processes and monitoring required. Must demonstrate managerial and leadership abilities.
Desire significant skill and knowledge in Information System particularly EPIC and Pyxis / automated technology.
Must possess the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in written form, needs and solutions with all levels of the organization.
Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak fluent English
