    .3, Part-time: One, 12 hour shift M-F, every 3rd weekend (8am-8pm)

    1. Assist in the delivery of primary health care services and patient care management.
    2. Demonstrates competence in the skills necessary to carry out assigned duties.
    3. Administer medications by all routes.
    4. Apply Nursing Process (Assessment, Diagnosis, Planning, Intervention and Evaluation – within licensure guidelines)
    5. Act as a liaison with patients, family and providers consistently demonstrating smooth and efficient telephone communication when covering provider call and scheduling patient appointments.
    6. Obtain complete history regarding health problems according to protocols.
    7. Document accurate information regarding health concerns and/or condition from patient or family member.
    8. Telephone Triage by providing and documenting advice for home care of illness/condition; conducting follow-up phone calls regarding patient's health and progress as necessary.
    9. Ability to assess urgency of condition for immediate attention regarding illness related calls and assign priority.
    10. Placement of urinary catheters per license.
    11. Placement of IV per license.
    12. Provide patient education regarding health maintenance and medical illnesses following accepted Teach-back method per protocols and guidelines.
    13. Provide appropriate and timely documentation in the patient’s electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
    14. Provide information to appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. health department).
    15. Evaluate clinical skills and practice of clinical care team.
    16. Supervision of delegated duties to License Practical Nurse and Certified Medical Assistants on approved clinical protocols.
    17. Facilitate and support relationships between providers (e.g. within clinic, referring) and with ancillary services.
    18. Understand inpatient and outpatient specialty procedures. Responsible for compliance with precertification requirements
    19. Thoroughly understand anatomical impact (phases/stages, thresholds) for clinic specialty services including co-morbidities and influences impacting patient care and treatment.
    20. Thoroughly understand testing (lab and procedures) values and relationship to patient status with accountability to take next steps, as appropriate to scope and licensure.
    21. Be aware of what is happening in clinic/department and the organization by attending clinic/department meetings, reading emails and regularly checking information on the organization’s intranet site.
    22. Meet the department work schedule.
    23. Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines.
    24. Maintain compliance with Personnel policies and procedures.
    25. Monitor environmental conditions in order to secure protected health information.
    26. Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
    27. Behave in a manner consistent with all Compliance and HIPAA policies and procedures.
    28. Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
    29. Balance team and individual responsibilities; be open and objective to other’s views; give and welcome feedback; contribute to positive team goals; and put the success of the team above own interests.
    30. Perform other duties as requested by Clinic Administrator to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the office


    Qualifications for CMA:

    • Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
    • Current CME certification for Certified Medical Assistant and AAMA or NCCT certification.

    Qualifications for LPN:

    • Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses.
    • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa/Illinois for Licensed Practical Nurse.


    Qualifications for LPN or CMA:


    Mandatory Reporter certification


    • Meets educational/competency requirements per policy.
    • Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.
    • Computer data entry experience.
    • Mandatory Reporter certification.
    • CPR certification.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Strong computer skills.
    • Ability to work as a team member.
    • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures
    • Able to write, read, comprehend and speak fluent English.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred
