Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides basic nursing care for the personal and comfort needs of the patient.
The monitor technician observes the central station, telemetry monitors. Ability to perform ECG's, interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and/or ECG pattern changes. Training or equivalent experience computerized order entry and general clerical functions via computer. On-the-job training necessary for monitor technician skills. Previous medical/clerical experience with demonstrated proficiency is preferred. Basic computer skills preferred. Strong medical terminology and knowledge of cardiac drugs which affect the conduction system. Should demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Must maintain current CPR certification.

Must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instruction. Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with patients and staff. Must be able to set priorities and react rationally to situations in patient care settings.
LICENSES, REGISTRATION & CERTIFICATION:
Current CPR Certification required.
