Interfaces the laboratory to its customers by performing the registration and support tasks associated with the Lab Business Office. Responsibilities include the performance of lab client and patient registrations, test ordering in the LIS, specimen processing, result inquiry, report generation, general information requests and maintenance of patient records. Verifies insurance eligibility and determines lab test medical necessity for the testing being performed. The position also provides customers with telephone communications and other services in addition to excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Shift: 10:30 am-7:00pm and 11:30am-8:00pm rotating shifts, weekend and holiday rotation, some call.
Interfaces the laboratory to it's customers by performing the clerical and support tasks associated with demographic entry, test ordering, result inquiry, report generation, general information requests and patient records. This position also provides telephone communications and general reception duties.
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous hospital computer experience desired. Other experience involving patient contact or the delivery of healthcare services will be considered beneficial. Medical terminology and medical insurance strongly desired.
