Utilizing the Nursing Process, coordinates and implements care of patients within an assigned unit of the hospital under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Patient Care Manager. Performs work of considerable difficulty. Represents nursing within Trinity Medical Center and works to improve the health of the communities we serve.The Weekend Option RN (Registered Nurse) Program is intended to provide a flexible staffing opportunity for employees and managers to meet the patient care needs of their unit and the work life needs of nursing staff.
Demonstrates competence in the skills, (processes, procedures, and equipment) necessary to carry out assigned duties as identified below. Demonstrated competence in recognizing and responding to patients physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs should be evaluated in relation to the patient populations served as appropriate for each responsibility.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Must be a graduate of accredited School of Nursing. 2 years of Acute Care clinical experience. Must have clinical experience in at least two service line (Service Lines: ER, ICU, M/S, Rehab, and Maternal Child) with at least one being M/S.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: Considerable knowledge of the nursing care required for the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient, inclusive of the nursing process. Good knowledge of teach/learning theories. Ability to problem solve; to plan, organize, and direct patient care activities; ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois and Iowa. Must obtain and maintain current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certification.
