The patient service rep greets patients and visitors and provides courteous caring and professional assistance to all individuals contacting the clinic. They answers questions and provides non-medical information and/or directs to the appropriate person or department. The patient service rep verifies reason for visit, records arrival time of patient, receives appropriate personal, medical and financial information from the patient or his/her representative. The PSR is involved in flow of information throughout the clinic and assists staff members as requested.
The PSR must be familiar with OSHA and other employment-related regulations. Other duties include filing of medical records, telephone triage and other duties as directed by supervisor. Demonstrated pleasant and customer-focused telephone techniques. Demonstrated proficiency in keyboarding, operating a copier, fax, printer, scanner, etc. Experience with clinic forms, worker's compensation, insurance, multi-line telephone systems and computers desired.

High School diploma or equivalent
Prior secretarial/clerical experience of 1-2 years preferred
Proficient in Systoc, EPIC and other software programs as implemented
Proficient in Word documents Proficient in multiple-line telephone systems
Medical Terminology preferred
