UnityPoint Health-Trinity is accepting applications for an RN position on our Medical Oncology/Neurology Unit at our Rock Island Trinity location. This is a 44 bed fast paced unit. These units care for general medical and surgical patients and specialize in Neurology and Oncology. This unit is involved in initiatives to promote Breast Cancer Awareness and Stroke Awareness and we are stroke certified. They also assist nurses working in Oncology to become certified for chemotherapy! Oncology provides inpatient chemotherapy and work with patients having issues related to their cancer diagnosis. Neurology cares for our stroke, head injury and epilepsy patients. This variety provides the nurse the opportunity to work with different types of patients on a daily basis, providing an experience that will both challenge you and help you grow as a nurse.
We have full time, 12 hour day and night positions available.

Demonstrates competence in the skills, (critical thinking, interpersonal, and technical) necessary to carry out assigned duties. Demonstrates competence in recognizing and responding to patients physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs should be evaluated in relation to the patient populations served as appropriate for each responsibility.
EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of accredited School of Nursing. Previous acute care experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: The following is required:
a. Knowledge of the nursing care required for patients throughout the age continuum;
b. Ability to use the nursing process;
c. Knowledge of teaching/learning theories;
d. Ability to critically think, problem solve; plan, organize, and coordinate patient care activities;
e. Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois and Iowa. Current CPR certification is required. ACLS certification must be ascertained prior to completion of orientation to the department.
