Overview

Attend health screenings and assist with screenings, data collecting, program assistance related to employer/commercial and community clients.

Responsibilities

Clinical Excellence

Performs screenings and follows hospital established protocols

Able to do screenings effective and efficiently i.e. cholesterol, blood pressure, spirometry, ankle brachial index, resting EKG’s and blood glucose

Performs patient lab testing (venipuncture) and follows quality control in compliance with hospital lab procedures/policies

Assist with check in process at screenings as needed

 

Program Support

Able to provide appropriate recommendations to employer/commercial and/or community participants after reviewing health screening results

Assist as needed with kick off meetings for new clients, new hire training and intern education

Compiles data as needed from employer/commercial and/or community screenings in a timely manner

Maintains screening records while following HIPPA guidelines

Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year

Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma/GED

 

Work Experience

1-3 years of experience in/with phlebotomy in venipuncture techniques preferred

 

License and Certification

Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Intermediate computer knowledge: Ability to troubleshoot minor problems within a Windows OS, operates within a network environment, uses spreadsheet, database, word processing and internet applications proficiently. Learns new applications without difficulty and is able to aid others in immediate work area with computer questions.

 

Other

Work does require travel to other facilities.

May drive a UPH vehicle, rental or own vehicle.
