UnityPoint Health is seeking compassionate, highly skilled Registered Nurses to join our Family Birthing Suites team in Dubuque. This 15-bed unit provides care for mothers, newborns, and gynecological surgery patients in private Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum suites and includes a four-bed Level II NICU and a fully equipped Cesarean surgical suite. An ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, attentive assessment skills, and a commitment to safe, family-centered care.

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Sign-on bonus: $10,000

Shift: Nights, 7 p.m.–7 a.m., with weekend and holiday rotation/on-call.

Role Details

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

The Labor & Delivery RN provides individualized nursing care for mothers, newborns, and gynecological surgery patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum care, and newborn transition. The nurse monitors maternal and fetal status, administers medications and treatments, assists with vaginal and Cesarean deliveries, provides education, and coordinates care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Provides nursing care for patients with actual or potential health care problems using the nursing process. Plans and directs the nursing care for individuals, patients, groups of patients and their families, coordinating care in collaboration with other health care professionals. Duties include performing physical exams and health histories, providing health promotion and education, administering medications, and numerous other personalized interventions. Interprets patient information and makes critical decisions about needed actions.

Qualifications

Must hold an active license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa. The position requires at least an Associate's degree in nursing. RN employees are required to have or obtain a BSN within five years after their start date with UnityPoint Health - Finley Hospital.
