Overview

Patient Access Team Lead
Marshalltown Hospital
Shift/Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, with rotating on-call weekends and holidays

 

Help make accessing care a welcoming and seamless experience for patients and families. As a Patient Access Team Lead, you’ll guide daily operations, support your teammates, and work closely with clinical and billing teams to keep patient access services running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Guide daily patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification operations.

  • Welcome patients and families, answer questions, and help resolve concerns.

  • Coach and train team members, supporting onboarding and continued development.

  • Coordinate staff schedules and coverage to meet department needs.

  • Support accurate patient records, insurance authorizations, and account information.

  • Help patients understand insurance benefits, financial responsibilities, and payment options.

  • Partner with clinical and billing teams to support smooth patient transitions and resolve account issues.

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, accuracy, and patient satisfaction.

  • Protect patient privacy and support compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Education: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

Experience: 

  • Two (2) years of customer service OR healthcare related experience required.
