We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiology Specialty Clinic team at Methodist Downtown Des Moines. This is a great opportunity for nurses who are passionate about patient-centered care and interested in growing their skills in cardiology. Whether you have previous cardiology experience or are looking to expand your clinical knowledge in the specialty, we welcome your application.

In this role, you will support patients with a variety of cardiovascular conditions by providing symptom assessment and triage, coordinating care, assisting with testing and procedures, and providing education and follow-up. You’ll work closely with cardiologists and the specialty care team to help ensure patients receive timely, coordinated care.

• Assess patient calls and electronic messages to determine urgency and appropriate next steps.
• Provide telephone triage for cardiac symptoms and help patients access the appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate care, testing, procedures, referrals, and follow-up appointments for cardiology patients.
• Communicate patient concerns and clinical findings with cardiologists and other members of the care team.
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, treatments, and self-care.
• Monitor and follow up on patient needs, test results, and changes in condition.
• Assist with cardiology procedures and clinical testing as appropriate.
• Document assessments, patient interactions, care plans, and follow-up accurately in the electronic health record.
• Support patients throughout their care journey while providing timely, knowledgeable, and patient-centered service.

• Registered Nurse (RN) – Active/Unencumbered RN license in state of practice or compact license including state of practice.

• All levels of RN experience will be considered. Prior experience in cardiology or specialty care is a plus, but not required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
