Overview

Help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA). Working under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist, you will deliver therapeutic interventions that support meaningful daily activities and functional goals across a variety of care settings. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Occupational Therapists to provide individualized, evidence-based interventions that help patients improve function, independence, and participation in meaningful daily activities.  
  • Educate patients and caregivers, monitor progress, and collaborate to optimize outcomes. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation and billing, participate in care conferences, communicate effectively with the supervising OT and interdisciplinary team, and ensure compliance with regulatory, payer, and organizational requirements. 
  • Support a culture of excellence through quality improvement initiatives, clinical supervision of support staff, professional development, and participation in team meetings, education, and program enhancement activities that elevate the patient’s experience and care delivery. 

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Meets the educational requirements necessary to obtain a professional license as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant required. 

Experience: 

  • Prior work as a COTA in practice area preferred.  

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • Holds a current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant required 
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) required 
  • IA child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required 
  • IL child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required 
  • IA Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required 
  • IL Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required
