Working collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams, you will address physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial needs while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a variety of healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

  • Help patients achieve greater independence by evaluating functional abilities, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions that support meaningful daily activities.  
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and care teams to optimize outcomes and adapt care as needs change. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation and billing, educate patients and caregivers, coordinate with providers and community resources, and ensure compliance with regulatory, payer, and organizational requirements. 
  • Support excellence in care through quality improvement initiatives, supervision of COTAs, therapy technicians, and students, participation in interdisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing professional growth. 
  • Contribute to a safe environment while helping advance programs, services, and the overall patient experience. 

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required for applicants graduating from an accredited Occupational Therapy program prior to 2007. 
  • Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) or clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) required for applicants graduating from accredited Occupational Therapy programs 2007 to present.

Experience: 

  • One (1) year experience if with UnityPoint @ Home required 
  • Prior work as an OT in practice area preferred.  
  • Recent graduates will be considered. 

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in state(s) of practice required 
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) through the American Heart Association required. 
  • Certified Occupational Therapist through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.  
  • IA Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required 
  • IA Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required 
  • IL Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required 
  • IL Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required
