**GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN A SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST PROGRAM!**
The Surgical Technologist Student is enrolled in a surgical technology program that integrates classroom-based technical education with hands-on, work-based learning. This program is designed to prepare students for a career in surgical technology following graduation. As a member of the surgical team, the student supports the safe and effective performance of invasive surgical, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Responsibilities include collaborating with team members to maintain a safe operating room environment, ensuring proper functioning of instrumentation, and promoting conditions that maximize patient safety. Under supervision, the student may assist in the role of first or second scrub person or as a second circulator. Working under the direction of an experienced surgical technologist or registered nurse, the student performs tasks and services that contribute to patient care and comfort, in accordance with legal and institutional guidelines. Duties are limited to procedures for which the student has received formal instruction and demonstrated competency. This role requires the application of clinical knowledge, sound judgment, and initiative to support the surgical team and enhance patient outcomes.
