Overview

In this role, you will perform skilled carpentry work including installing walls, doors, cabinets, and finishes, while ensuring compliance with ADA, IDPH, BOCA, and DNV standards. You will also support preventive maintenance, fire-stopping systems, and facility safety initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled carpentry work including framing, layout, and installation of walls, doors, ceilings, and related facility systems in a healthcare environment. 
  • Install, repair, and maintain doors, hardware, locksets, and locking systems in compliance with ADA, IDPH, BOCA, and DNV standards. 
  • Fabricate and install millwork such as cabinets, countertops, and laminates with attention to quality craftsmanship and finish. 
  • Complete wall, floor, and ceiling finishing work while adhering to fire safety codes and regulatory requirements. 
  • Install safety and accessibility features such as grab bars and restroom accessories with proper anchoring and code compliance. 
  • Apply fire-stopping systems and maintain fire-rated assemblies to ensure facility safety and compliance. 
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on building structures and carpentry-related systems to ensure long-term reliability. 
  • Monitor facility conditions and identify potential safety or code compliance issues, escalating as needed. 
  • Support emergency response activities as part of the hospital’s incident command system when required. 
  • Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship and customer service. 

Qualifications

Education: 

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.  
  • Technical training or apprenticeship in related domain preferred.  

Experience: 

  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in carpentry or related field, with experience in fabricating wooden articles, operation and maintenance of woodworking tools required 

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons required 
  • Valid Auto Insurance required when driving a personal vehicle.
