RN - Cardiac Rehab

Primary site Lutheran with occasional work at Methodist and Lakeview

Shift:  Days - Full Time 

Delivers professional nursing care in non-acute, outpatient, and community settings as part of an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation; case management and coordination with providers; patient and family education, supportive counseling, medication monitoring, and crisis intervention as appropriate; and maintenance of a safe, therapeutic environment using trauma-informed, therapeutic communication. Upholds the ANA Code of Ethics and professional practice standards, ensures accurate documentation and confidentiality, collaborates across departments, and contributes to quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. May provide guidance to other care team members or students within scope of licensure.

• Utilizes scientific principles to develop exercise prescriptions. Monitors client’s response to exercise and adjusts treatment plan accordingly.
• Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
• Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills specific to the rehabilitation specialty in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
• Utilizes holistic approach (considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the individuals served.
• Delegates and provides direction for other healthcare team members within their scope of practice and holds them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care.
• Utilizes critical thinking in developing nursing interventions while maintaining responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• 2 years of acute clinical experience.
• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. 
• Most possess and maintain current Basic Life support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within 3 months form date of hire.
