Join our OB/GYN team as a Certified Surgical Technologist! In this role, you’ll support surgical procedures by preparing and managing instruments, supplies, and equipment while anticipating the needs of the surgeon. You’ll help provide high-quality patient care by maintaining a safe, organized environment and the integrity of the sterile field throughout each procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by preparing operating rooms, verifying instruments and equipment, and ensuring readiness based on surgeon preference cards.  
  • Support patient preparation through scrubbing, draping, and positioning, and assisting intraoperatively by passing instruments, holding retractors, applying suction, and supporting the surgical team as needed.  
  • Maintain strict sterile technique, perform surgical counts, handle specimens appropriately, and ensure accurate documentation.  
  • Support infection prevention and safety standards while identifying and reporting concerns.   
  • Collaborate with surgical teams, support new staff and learners as a preceptor when needed and contribute to ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives that advance evidence-based surgical practice. 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology. If not a graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology, then equitable experience with documentation of similar training. Surgical technologist certification required; or obtained within 1 year of graduation or eligibility to sit for the exam.

Experience: 

  • Previous surgical technologist or equivalent experience preferred.  

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • CPR certification required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTA or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) by NCCT required; or obtained within 1year of graduation or eligibility to sit the exam.
