Responsibilities

  • Assesses and monitors total physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of adult, adolescent, and neonate patients
  • With input/collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, develop and maintain with the patient/significant other, an individualized, professionally modified plan of care reflective of changing needs/goals as determined by the evaluation of patient/significant other response to the plan of care.
  • Provides nursing care in accordance with nursing standards and the adult, adolescent, and neonate patient's plan of care.
  • With input and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team assesses and plans for discharge needs, evaluates adult, adolescent and neonate patients and significant others educational needs and initiates and implements appropriate teaching plan/protocol or makes appropriate referrals.  
  • Documents nursing care consistent with documentation guidelines.  

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate degree or Diploma in Nursing required. 
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current RN Licensure in State of Iowa or applicable compact state.   Must be licensed in state of residence. 
  • CPR, ACLS (L&D Staff), NRP, STABLE (Nursery Staff), AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (L&D Staff), 1 hour annual stroke education required.
