Overview

RN PACU

UnityPoint - St. Luke's - Sioux City Downtown

Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week, 12 hour shifts

Schedule: Self scheduling 7-7

 

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families.   Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.

Responsibilities

  • Delegates nursing care activities and monitors care given by appropriate care team members in accordance with patient needs, and the team member’s professional capabilities and qualifications. Supports use of Evidenced Based Practice and incorporates best practices into daily care routine.
  • Assists in creating a positive work environment by mentoring of staff/students, and working with team members to develop and facilitate initiatives to strive for positive outcomes in quality and care of patients. Effectively communicates with all team members, physicians, ancillary staff and all customers.
  • Complies with all policies and procedures, and guides team members with complianceCompiles with all safety goals, infection prevention and risk management policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Must have completed an accredited nursing program and possess a valid nursing license. 
  • All newly licensed RNs with less than six (6) months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to successfully complete the Nurse Residency program 
  • BSN Preferred.  

Experience: 

  • Minimum of two years of Medical-Surgical Experience required 

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • Valid nursing license required. 
  • Certifications to include: BCLS upon hire required. 
  • ACLS and PALS upon hire or within 6 weeks of hire. 
  • One (1) hour of stroke education to be completed by the end of orientation and then annually thereafter. 
  • Specialty certification is encouraged.
