The Paramedic provides advanced prehospital emergency care, delivering high-quality patient assessment, treatment, and transport services. This role works as part of an interdisciplinary EMS team, using critical thinking and advanced life support skills to respond to emergency situations and support positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced life support (ALS) care in prehospital and transport settings
  • Assess, monitor, and treat patients in emergency situations using appropriate clinical judgment
  • Administer medications, manage airways, initiate IV/IO access, and perform ECG interpretation
  • Safely transport patients while maintaining continuous monitoring and documentation of care
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, medical control, receiving facilities, and team members Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and transport details
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and ambulance readiness at all times
  • Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement, and continuing education activities 

Qualifications

Education:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Paramedic training programrequired 

Experience:  

  • PreviousEMS experience preferred 

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Paramedic certification (state-specific) required upon hire
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 60 days
  • Mandatory Reporter training (child and dependent adult abuse) required within 90 days
  • National Registry Paramedic (NREMT) and/or PHTLS certification preferred
