Shift:  Monday-Friday; 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM + call

 

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through advanced diagnostic imaging. You'll guide patients through every step of their experience by providing compassionate education and preparation, safely order and administer radiopharmaceuticals, and produce high-quality diagnostic images that support accurate diagnoses and treatment decisions. Your expertise and attention to detail will help ensure outstanding clinical outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • PET/CT
  • Orders Nuclear Medicine supplies – storeroom and radionuclides.
  • Performs radionuclide procedures, with limited supervision.
  • Prepares solutions and materials.
  • Performs equipment calibration and radioisotope assay operations.
  • Maintains records and monthly statistics of radioisotope receipts use, storage, and disposal in accordance with state, federal, and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) guidelines and regulations.
  • Responsible for performing radionuclide scans of organ imaging and function studies.
  • Prepares and administers IV radiopharmaceuticals to the patient.

Qualifications

Education:  

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Program

Experience:

  • Previous experience is desired.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • State of Iowa Permit to Practice in Nuclear Medicine
  • National registration with the American Registry Radiologic Technologist in Nuclear Medicine and/or national certification with the Certified Nuclear Medicine Technology Board or national registration with the American Registry Radiologic Technologist in Radiography with the experience deemed necessary in Nuclear Medicine. 
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification. 
  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
