The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP or Speech Therapist) is responsible for the evaluation of patients and development of their treatment programs in accordance with the scope of the profession, the State Practice Act, Licensure and policies of UnityPoint Health. They function as an integral part of the rehabilitation team and provide rehabilitation services to patients across the lifespan, targeting ages specific to their clinical setting. The Speech Therapist is responsible for accurate documentation and billing as well as maintaining communication with referring providers and teammates, as ethically appropriate, to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care best suited for the environment in which care is provided. (ie: acute hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, in the home, etc.)

Basic UPH Performance Criteria
Education: Graduated from an accredited program in respective field.
Experience: Experience in specialty area.
License (s/Certifications: Current Iowa license as an SLP. Current BLS (CPR). Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional backgrounds. Knowledge of basic computer skills. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred.
Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
