The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for all aspects of occupational therapy service delivery and is accountable for safety and effectiveness of the occupational therapy service delivery process. Occupational Therapy services can be provided for habilitation, rehabilitation and promotion of health and wellness for clients with disabilities and non-disability related needs. Services promote acquisition and preservation of occupational identity for those who have or are at risk for developing an illness, injury, disease, disorder, condition, impairment, disability, activity limitation or participation restriction.

Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized OT treatment plans for inpatient populations
Assist patients in regaining functional independence in activities of daily living (ADLs)
Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and home safety
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
Document patient progress accurately and comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards
