Overview

Retail Pharmacist
Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week

Split position supporting Allen Retail Pharmacy (32 hrs/week) and Prairie Parkway Retail Pharmacy (8 hrs/week).

Schedule: Rotating shifts within pharmacy hours

  • Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Weekends: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

 

As a Retail Pharmacist, you’ll provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care while working closely with patients and healthcare providers. You’ll review prescriptions, counsel patients on medication use, and help optimize therapy based on individual needs and health conditions.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with physicians and care teams to improve outcomes, monitor patient responses, and prevent medication-related issues. You’ll also support daily pharmacy operations and provide guidance to staff as needed, ensuring a high level of service and care for every patient.

Responsibilities

  • Process, fill, verify, and dispense medications with a strong focus on accuracy and safety
  • Provide clear, compassionate counseling to patients on medication use and expectations
  • Offer prescription clarification and recommendations to patients and providers
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes
  • Support medication therapy management (MTM) services and related clinical initiatives
  • Administer immunizations in accordance with protocols
  • Contribute to efficient day-to-day pharmacy operations and overall patient experience
  • Perform additional duties and support projects as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

  • RPh or PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy

Experience:

  • Previous retail or clinical pharmacy experience preferred

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Active pharmacist license in the state of Iowa
