Overview

The Business Initiatives Consultant II is a key member of the Transformation Management Office, responsible for leading and supporting enterprise-wide initiatives aligned to strategic priorities. This role manages all phases of the project lifecycle—from initiation through execution and close—across projects of varying size, scope, and complexity.

You will serve as a strategic partner to operational leaders and executive stakeholders, delivering high-quality project management and analysis across clinical and operational initiatives while modeling an enterprise-wide perspective.

 

Location: Remote (preference for Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin residents)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional and virtual teams to successfully execute complex projects
  • Manage full project lifecycle, including scope, timelines, resources, and deliverables
  • Partner with business leaders, including C-suite, to define and achieve strategic goals
  • Drive integration and implementation of initiatives across a matrixed organization
  • Develop and maintain project plans, documentation, and communication materials
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success
  • Build and track performance metrics; provide regular updates on progress and outcomes
  • Facilitate meetings and align stakeholders to drive decision-making and prioritization
  • Collaborate across regions and teams to share best practices and support system goals

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree required, plus 5+ years of experience in healthcare project management or process improvement
  • Equivalent combination of education and directly related experience will be considered
  • Degree in Project Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and/or process redesign/improvement
  • Experience managing projects within a healthcare or clinical setting preferred
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives across multi-hospital or complex healthcare systems

Licensure & Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license (if travel is required for the role)
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) or equivalent coursework preferred
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification from a recognized organization strongly preferred
