Overview

UnityPoint Health is seeking an IT Operations Analyst Senior to join our team! This role is responsible for supporting the general IT Operations of the department, with a focus on resource and financial management. This role works closely with IT leadership and the Finance department to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and optimal resource allocation. The Analyst provides operational support, assists with annual operating and capital budgeting processes, and serves as a key resource for financial and resourcing questions across the IT organization.

 

Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm 

Location: Remote - must reside within the UnityPoint Health footprint of Iowa, Illinois or Wisconsin

Responsibilities

Strategy: 

  • Support the Sr. Director and IT leadership in implementing operational strategies that drive efficiency and financial stewardship. 
  • Contribute data-driven insights to inform IT operations and resource planning.

 

Operational Excellence:

  • Assist with general IT Operations tasks, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning of the department. 
  • Maintain accurate records of operational activities, resource utilization, and financial transactions. 
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to support continuous improvement in IT operations. 

 

Resource & FInancial Management:

  • Support the financial reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial data to IT leadership and Finance. 
  • Assist in the preparation and management of annual operating and capital budgets for IT. 
  • Track and report on resource allocation, utilization, and capacity across IT teams. 
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to address resourcing and financial questions, providing data and insights as needed. 
  • Work closely with the Finance department to ensure alignment on budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls. 
  • Assist in cost analysis and identify opportunities for financial optimization.

 

Process & Document Management:

  • Maintain documentation related to budgeting, financial reporting, and resource management processes. 
  • Assist in creating and updating process documentation, templates, and tools to standardize IT operations practices. 
  • Ensure documentation of financial and resource management actions are accurate and current. 

 

Relationship Support:

  • Provide coordination and support for IT leadership and Finance department meetings related to operations, budgeting, and resource management. 
  • Assist in tracking and following up on action items related to financial and operational initiatives. 
  • Support contract changes and renewals as they relate to operational and financial management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent education and work experience will be accepted only if previous experience applies to specific systems. 

Experience:

  • At least five years of experience in IT operations, financial analysis, or resource management is desirable.
  • Foundational knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM), outsourcing, or vendor governance practices. 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency with financial reporting tools, dashboards, and visualization platforms (e.g., Excel, Power BI). 
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
  • Strong  communication and collaboration abilities, especially with IT leadership and Finance teams. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
