Shift: Part-time; hours vary between 7a-8p but primarily evening hours; every other weekend; rotating holidays

Responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients, visitors, equipment, and goods throughout the facility.  Clean equipment and redistribute equipment as needed. Interact with electronic medical record applications to maintain accurate patient records. In addition to these responsibilities, expected to always demonstrate the vision of the hospital while following FOCUS values.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transports patients to and from hospital areas and departments utilizing proper equipment (wheelchair or cart) appropriate to the patient’s condition and lifting techniques.
  • Promptly transports patient to destination and notifies patient arrival to designated individual.
  • Safely transports equipment throughout the hospital such as beds, goods, and oxygen tanks, etc.
  • Interacts with electronic medical record applications to accurately update patient status and location records.
  • Maintains cleanliness of equipment and workspace and reports equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with clinical care teams and departments using patient communication device to update status and locations of patients.
  • Checks patient’s identification bands to ensure correct move.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.

Experience:

  • Previous patient care experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred

Other:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English
