The Structural Heart Coordinator is responsible for providing a deliberate patient and family partnership with the structural heart care team that facilitates a seamless patient experience between the Cardiology Clinic, CT Surgery Clinic, and hospital settings. The Structural Heart Coordinator works to maximize the patient’s health outcome and the patient experience by identifying patient and family needs, completing pre and post visit planning, coordinating diagnostic testing and consultations leading up to structural heart procedures.
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.

Key Accountability
Education:
Completion of an accredited Bachelor of Science nursing program and/or be eligible to take licensure exam.
Completion of an accredited advanced practice nursing program; master’s degree in nursing.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of cardiovascular (office or hospital) nursing experience.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Possess a current Iowa RN license. Possess a current Iowa ARNP license; current state and federal DEA certification.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Maintain current BCLS certification.
Maintain current ACLS certification
