Leads the planning and day-to-day operations of facilities and plant systems across hospitals, clinics, and off-campus properties. Directs maintenance staff and vendors to deliver preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, utilities management, grounds and building repairs, with 24/7 accountability for safe, sanitary, and reliable environments. Drives performance improvement, cost containment, and asset lifecycle planning; partners with clinical and non-clinical leaders to minimize disruption to patient care and provide responsive service. Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, Environment of Care, and Life Safety requirements, and supports capital planning and project execution.

Associate's Degree
Required
Associate’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related technical field. Acceptable alternatives: accredited trade school diploma or private/military facility management training with technical coursework (e.g., boilers, chillers, refrigeration, electrical/electronic fundamentals, hydraulics), or 4 years of equivalent experience in facility plant operations management in lieu of degree.

Work Experience

Required
Plant operations or facilities maintenance experience in large facilities with exposure to mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and painting; familiarity with DNV, OSHA, NFPA, IBC, NEC, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Required
Direct supervision or management of maintenance/plant operations teams, including operational budgeting.
8 years
Preferred
Experience in a hospital engineering or maintenance department, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
