Week 1 (2p-10p) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

Week 2 (2p-10p) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

The Counselor Technician is responsible for providing direct care, support, and counseling services to individuals participating in treatment and recovery programs. This role assists in patient monitoring, medication support, and implementation of treatment and recreational activities. The Counselor Technician applies a holistic approach that considers physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and educational factors appropriate to the age and condition of the individuals served.

• Assumes primary care of assigned patients during assigned shifts. 
• Checks and records vital signs of assigned patients. 
• Performs and documents direct care given to patients in conformance with treatment plan and physician orders.  
• Communicates effectively on patient care issues including shift report and patient record documentation.  
• Provides supportive counseling to patients.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Must be high school graduate or equivalent. 
• Has completed 75 hour CNA or CMA training program.
• Must have CPR/BLS certification.

Experience:

• One year of experience in the chemical dependency field/behavioral health services.

Other:

• Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
• Must be able to move quickly and frequently from 1st floor Residential unit to 4th floor outpatient services area or 3rd Floor Detox Unit. 
• Light lifting may be involved.
