House Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, direction, and coordination of nursing practice and all hospital activities to maintain continuity of effective communication, public relations, management; and patient services. The House Supervisor shall represent Hospital Administration and shall be designated as the officer in charge utilizing the administrative person on call when necessary. Manages the day-to-day operations of their direct reports, utilizing quality, cost effective patient care principles. Supervises, supports and develops staff members. Collaborates with physicians, providers, and other health care workers, to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Direct, coordinate, and delegate patient care activities; serve as acting manager/administrator in the absence of leadership
Manage staffing, scheduling, payroll support, and adherence to staffing matrix and budget guidelines; provide hands-on support as needed
Lead, coach, evaluate, and develop staff through hiring, orientation, education, performance feedback, and formal evaluations
Resolve complex operational issues including patient concerns, crises, and staff performance matters; conduct unit rounds and staff check-ins
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, manage bed placement, admissions, transfers, and discharges
Oversee emergency response, disaster activation, incident command, and hospital-wide operations during assigned shifts
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and confidentiality requirements
Communicate effectively with medical staff, administration, and external agencies to support patient care and hospital operations
Identify improvement opportunities, cost-saving strategies, and short- and long-term operational solutions to meet patient care goals
