Overview

Shift:  3:00 PM - 7:00 PM (3 days per week)

 

Join our team at the Robert Young Center as a Registered Dietitian supporting our Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program!

 

In this role, you’ll provide compassionate, evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to clients, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and ongoing support. You’ll work closely with a collaborative care team - physicians, nurses, therapists, and more, to make a meaningful impact on clients’ recovery journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Uses the nutrition care process to interpret nutrition screens, perform initial and follow-up nutrition assessments and implement interventions with a personalized nutrition plan of care.
  • Documents nutrition care according to department policies using approved format, content and timeline standards.
  • Interprets nutrition care orders and implement in patient education, group and individual counseling and meal services.
  • Conducts group and individual counseling/teaching sessions, relating to the importance of proper nutrition for health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Works in a team environment and communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary case conferences integrating the health care team in meeting the patient's overall plan of care.

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics/Nutrition. 

  • Dietetic Internship or equivalent Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) approved program.

Experience: 

  • Demonstrated competence of two years of dietitian experience using the nutrition care process

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • Active registration status of Registered Dietitian as defined by the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the American Dietetic Association

  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in Iowa

  • Meets ongoing continuing education requirement to maintain license(s) and CDR registration
