Overview

$5,000 Relocation Assistance

Shifts: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd; 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts available

 

As part of a collaborative clinical team, the Respiratory Therapist Assistant works under the guidance of Respiratory Therapy leadership and the Medical Director to deliver high-quality, physician-ordered respiratory care to inpatients in the Rehabilitation, Oncology, Epileptic Monitoring, Skilled Nursing, Surgical, and Medical units.

Responsibilities

  • Charts for all therapy are rendered per documentation policy. 
  • Assesses patients for initiation and/or changes in patient care. 
  • Prepares equipment and patients for proper test results. 
  • Familiarity with pulmonary function testing equipment and emergency airway equipment.
  • Familiarity with PF screening and comprehensive pulmonary function testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with humidifiers, O2 therapy related equipment, aerosols, and pulse oximetry. 
  • Familiarity with mechanical percussors, bedside pulmonary screeners, EKGs, and volume expansion therapy.  
  • Adult ventilation (noninvasive only). 
  • ABG procurement. 
  • Instructs home care patients, inpatients, and outpatients on therapy. 

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and enrolled in a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program with satisfactory completion of the first year as defined by the Respiratory Therapy Program Coordinator is required.
  • Students may be asked to sign a waiver to release their grades upon request to ensure all classes have been completed with a “C” average. 

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • CPR required upon hiring.
