The therapy technician assists with set up for patient treatment, performs a variety of housekeeping tasks, cares for equipment and performs a variety of assigned clerical tasks. The therapy technician is responsible for assisting with routine patient care activities as requested and under the direct supervision of a licensed professional. Such activities may include, but are not limited to, functional mobility training, strengthening, and ROM exercises and activities of daily living. The therapy technician will assist with transportation of patients as needed and will strive to provide a safe, clean and organized environment for patients and staff.

Customer Service:
Performs clerical duties for therapists and staff (e.g., faxing, scanning, copying, tx activity creation, filing
Provides support at front desk by assisting with phone answering, patient requests, and basic EPIC functions
Assists with the preparation and cleaning of equipment and treatment area.
Coordinates maintenance requests and maintains all departmental equipment
Assists with transportation of patients as needed.
Orders supplies for the department. Obtains supplies from outside vendors.
Performs other tasks as requested

Reports any questions or concerns regarding compliance immediately to the attention of department or organization/hospital administrative staff.

This position may be assigned a specific mission to address in an emergency situation to assist in disaster response and recovery as part of the UPH-DM Hospital Emergency Incident Command System. Situations of a critical nature may require an individual to perform multiple tasks until additional support can be obtained.
Performs functions other than described due to extenuating circumstances.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent Required. Must read, write, speak and comprehend English. Must be able to communicate effectively (written and orally) with people of diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds. Basic computer knowledge and skills preferred.
Experience: One year experience in a medical setting preferred or experience as a therapy aide/tech/volunteer or current enrollment in a PT/OT/ST program. Experience in serving people. Sustained history of previous employment for wages.
