Overview

We are seeking a Biomedical Technician I (BMET I) to join our team. The  Biomedical Technician I (BMET I) position is an entry level role with primary responsibilities for general patient care equipment service and maintenance performance. The BMET I position has direct reporting responsibilities to the assigned affiliate Unity Point Clinical Engineer Manager or designated Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and equipment verification. 
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate biomedical equipment, PCs, and medical networks. 
  • Assist senior BMETs with advanced equipment repairs and troubleshooting. 
  • Maintain accurate service records in the CMMS database and ensure regulatory compliance. 
  • Communicate with clinical staff regarding equipment status and provide user education. 
  • Coordinate with vendors and service technicians to ensure proper service delivery. 
  • Participate in ongoing training and adhere to on‑call rotation and travel requirements. 

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or other Technology/IT related program; military Biomedical Engineering Technician course graduate required.  

Experience: 

  • Three (3) months experience working with Biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment preferred.  

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • Valid driver’s license (DRLC1IA, DRLC1IL, DRLC1WI) required.   
  • AUTOINS requiredfor driving a personal vehicle.
